Awarded in recognition of the legacy of Ralph Saltzman, co-founder of US textile manufacturer Designtex, the Ralph Saltzman Prize celebrates emerging product designers. Each year the awarded designer exhibits their work in the Design Museum’s atrium space.

A modular set of plinths and acrylic hoods were designed to be placed over and next to an existing oak bench. Wrapping the plinths with a Designtex textile connects the designer's work to the prize's origins. The plinths are then reused every year with a different textile.
