‘Now Accepting Contactless’ explores how designers responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. Curated, designed and fabricated in just ten weeks the exhibition helped celebrate the museum’s reopening after its closure during lockdown.

Rainbows as a mark of hope, positivity and thanks became one of the most recognisable graphic symbols used by the public during the height of the pandemic. Working with artist and colour consultant Sophie Smallhorn, an alternative rainbow palette was created and applied to modular exhibition units. A physical rainbow running through the museum’s atrium space.

A digitisation of wooden letterpress from Glasgow School of Art's Case room – developed by Or Type with guidance from Edwin Pickstone – was used for the exhibition title and headers.
