This semi-permanent exhibition celebrates the design process, construction techniques and collaborative spirit behind the creation of V&A Dundee. It is designed to be a welcoming space where visitors can orientate themselves when they first arrive at the museum.

Object displays are positioned within three moveable islands with integrated soft seating covered in Scottish Bute fabric. These sit opposite a wall of collaged film, animation and interviews with people who helped bring the museum to life. The scattered screens mimic the Museum’s small picture windows that create framed views of the River Tay.

The form of the exhibition furniture references the work of Kenzō Tange a Japanese architect who influenced V&A Dundee’s architect Kengo Kuma.
